The Reivers getting organised for Reiver Group Photos
All dressed up with nowhere to Reive
Looks like the horses got away
Four Reivers but 5 spears (or are they called lances?)
George G checking them out from behind.
The 5th Reiver - has a lance, but no "outfit" yet.
The Chief and the chief Reiver

Making sure the feathers don't get hit by the flag

All present and correct!!

Still getting organised
Hurry up and wait...
Are we ready yet? (Nice shirt Jim)
And we're off.
Further back down the lines.
Robin before the sunburn got too bad.
Waiting in the holding area.
Remember - stay in rows of 4 and spread out so it looks like there's more of us.
The view ahead as the pipe bands move into the arena.
Now we're spread out - Reivers in the front, wenches behind. (or is that a princess?)
Being followed in by the Hendersons.
The Andersons bought live hamburgers with them.
Getting ready for the opening remarks.
The photographer's gallery in our tent area.
Those Anderson cattle again - no one could figure out why the Reivers didn't get them.
What part of the Reiver kit is this?? (on the belt).
Some of the red-headed Moffats.
Turns out there's 3 of them.
A visitor trying on the Reiver headgear.
The start of The Games. This one is barrell rolling. Take note of the 4 muscle bound dudes in red - you'll be seeing them again later.
Our tents faced directly to the games arena. Some of the people in the shot are Madam Jean, Robin Gates, and (blue soccer shirt) Jim Hughs - proprietor of the Black Bull Inn in Moffat Scotland.
Getting ready for one of the heats in men's barrell rolling. Joey Moffitt (third barrell from right) from North Carolina won this one.
turned and heading for home.
Mounting the barrel at the end.
Brian (background) competing in the second heat
The final - if only Joey had run the barrel up the back of his legs he'd have won this, and we might have won the Tug'o'War later.
The Award Ceremony.
Howard with his first place in the "Senior" event trophy.
First place to a muscle bound Wallace dude. Joey Moffitt got second.

This is what happens if you get caught stealing...
...they whack off your fake hand. |

Pull
Pull - can't get too low down - don't want a grass stain on the oh so expensive kilt!!!
Jim at the end - he did end up with a grass stain.
OK we lost the first one - swap ends to see if we were trying to pull them uphill.
Now we're showing some form - amazing what the practice we got in the first round can do for you. |
We still lost, but the Wallace boys (3 are brothers) told us we'd given them the best contest they'd had in some time.
Now it's the turn of about 50 kids to see if they could do any better than the Clan Moffat "Volunteers" did.
George G getting it organised.
now they're pulling.....
the Wallaces let go, and the kids fell down.
